I don’t know why, but many find it difficult to accept the age and want to look young, pretend young, act young. The irony is that the same person with colored hair in an attempt to look young also wants to take the advantage of reserved seats in bus, reserved queues at railway station, post offices, banks etc.
These are seniors with grey hair and green mind, who don’t mind reservations, but certainly mind youngsters calling them aji/ajoba.
Why don’t we accept age? What are the problems of senior citizens?
The life style of Senior Citizens depends mainly upon physical and mental/ emotional health.
Even if there are no major physical diseases, ageing still plays its role and problem on walking, moving, vision, denture, hearing do occur inevitably. At an emotional level, disinterest in life could be the reason why you do not feel like doing anything, in spite of good health. This could be because there is no driving force to guide the day. Acharya P.K. Atre, when wished happy birth day in his old days, said, “ Ata kasale amache Vadhdivas, ata kadh divas”, meaning - birthday is not special, each day is just pass the day. Even dynamic men like get disinterested in life after certain age.
Why does this happen – one of the main reasons is monotony in daily routine.
How to overcome this monotony? Let us make new friends, come together, chat together through Eldess. This is a good platform, let us use it, let us share our ideas, experiences through this media and come together, what do you say?
