It is painful for anyone to get a dead telephone line working again, find the right plumber and physically supervise the quality of work, find out why the light suddenly went out, AC stopped working, fridge malfunctioned and get it fixed, resolve why the mobile bill, internet bill, cables bill, electricity bill is wrong, get a computer software/hardware issue resolved, go to the bank or any other office to get answers to some basic queries, get an affidavit made or get a document notarized, go to various public offices (property registrar, income tax office, RTO, passport etc.) for tasks that do not necessarily need your physical presence.

It is positively irritating when your parents have to, without support, visit shops in multiple locations for purchasing items such as property, TV, furniture, or a vehicle, OR read through the instruction manuals, collate documents, get Xeroxes, fill and file the application for a passport or visa or a government document.
